Welcome to the 2009 Velauno Summer Sessions!


Summer is back!  Velauno proudly unveils its
7th consecutive year of our kids windsurfing program!



World crisis? Global warming? Que nos pasa Puerto Rico? As we reflect upon the global and local situations that are affecting us in 2009, it is sometimes difficult to see the correct path to take...How do we fix this mess?


While we don’t really believe that we can provide the total solution, we are sure that we offer a step in the right direction! Velauno’s Summer Session kids windsurfing program is back with its no frills approach to summer! This is the best alternative energy, wind powered, high efficiency, low carbon footprint, environmental friendly summer fun guaranteed to keep your kids smiling, healthy, and active all summer while teaching them ocean skills, ecological awareness, and providing a social atmosphere for learning and growing. Call it an extracurricular field trip for life skills and natural studies!


Our kids will grow up quickly and will soon be obliged

to deal with many of today’s world problems; the best that we can do for them is provide a complete set of skills and a open mind to be successful. Keeping to our roots and eager to share the passions that shaped our lives, year after year we tirelessly keep the obligation to educate and provide the building blocks for a better future.

Weekly Schedule:



Week 1: June 1st – June 5th

Week 2: June 8th – June 12th
Week 3: June 15th – June 19th
Week 4: June 22nd – June 26th
Holiday Break (June 29th – July 3rd)
Week 5: July 6th – July 10th
Week 6: July 13th – July 17th

Week 7: July 20th – July 24th
Week 8: July 27th – July 31st


Daily Schedule:
Monday through Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm

Ages:
9 to 18 years old

Instructor/Student Ratio:
2 – 4 students per instructor

Windsurfing Session Package Includes:

-Use of all Windsurfing and beach gear: boards, sails, no wind toys and activities, etc.
-20 hours per week of instruction/sailing
-Velauno Summer Sessions ’09 T-shirt
-Snacks and Drinks (pretzels, chips, assorted fruits, water & juice, etc)
-FREE subscription to Velauno.com E-News

Program Cost:

$325 per week paid full in advance. Includes sales tax 7% IVU. Reservations will not be guaranteed until the fee is paid in full. Last year all weeks were sold out so please reserve and pay early. Do not risk being disappointed.

Minimum Requirements:



-Good swimming ability
-Bathing suit
-Willingness to have fun!

Velauno Recommends:



-Neil Pryde or Reef Water shoe
-Lifejacket (Not provided, but recommended for younger or less experienced swimmers)
-Sol SunGuard Sun protection
-Neil Pryde or Dakine Lycra (rashguard longsleeve shirt)
-Wide brimmed beach hat or baseball cap and sunglasses
