It’s getting to be that time of year again. School’s finished…The ocean mellows out and takes on a beautiful shade of turquoise… Wind’s blowing like clockwork again… You get that itch to get down to the beach and get back in the water…It’s summertime!
For us, the feeling is the same. In fact, it’s been that way for years and only gets stronger. Even when work has kept us busy and away from the water physically, in our hearts and spirits, we are out there flying over the surface of the water always and forevermore.
That feeling… The first run out fully planning over rolling whitecaps, alone on a perfect wave, freestyling in light winds, drag-racing with your best buddy, the early morning sesh under stormy, squally skies, the perfect late afternoon sunset cruise…Teaching your kids to pick up the sail for the first time, taking your dog out for a ride to the reef and back, watching a friend hoot and holler after pulling off their first waterstart…
These are the memories that make us come back time after time. For this same reason, we continue to passionately teach windsurfing and share our love for what we do. This will be the 8thconsecutive summer of Velauno Summer Sessions Kids Windsurfing Program, and we are proud to be able to provide a quality activity for our children. Not only will they learn to windsurf, but we also try to create higher consciousness in our beach community by imparting, to everyone involved, waterman values such as self reliance, beach safety, caring for others and the environment.

Weekly Schedule:
Week 1: May 31st – June 4th Week 2: June 7th – June 11th
Week 3: June 14th – June 198h
Week 4: June 21st – June 25th
Week 5: June 28th - July 2nd
Break Week: July 5th – July 9th
Week 6: July 12th – July 16th
Week 7: July 19th – July 23rd Week 8: July 26th – July 30th
Daily Schedule:
Monday through Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm
Ages:
8 to 16 years old
Instructor/Student Ratio:
2 – 4 students per instructor
Windsurfing Session Package Includes:
-Use of all Windsurfing and beach gear: boards, sails, no-wind toys and activities, etc.
-20 hours per week of instruction/sailing
-Velauno Summer Sessions 2010 T-shirt
-Snacks and Drinks (pretzels, chips, assorted fruits, water & juice, etc)
-FREE subscription to www.velauno.com E-News
Program Cost:
$325 per week paid full in advance. Includes sales tax 7% IVU. Reservations will not be guaranteed until the fee is paid in full. Last year all weeks were sold out so please reserve and pay early. Do not risk being disappointed.
Minimum Requirements:
-Good swimming ability
-Bathing suit
-Willingness to have fun!
Velauno Recommends:-Neil Pryde or Reef Water shoe
-Lifejacket (Not provided, but recommended for younger or less experienced swimmers)
-Sol SunGuard Sun protection
-Neil Pryde or Dakine Lycra (rashguard longsleeve shirt)
-Wide brimmed beach hat or baseball cap and sunglasses
